Aliayta is a co-founder of Orbit Duo alongside cellist Isidora Nojkovic. Orbit was founded in 2020, and has since focused on commissioning and premiering work by Canadian composers. Orbit’s work has been made possible thanks to the support of Canada Council for the Arts and SOCAN.

Orbit Duo have commissioned and performed pieces by composers including Olivia Shortt, Cris Derksen, Amy Brandon, Christina Vulpini and Robyn Jacob. Their work has been featured by Long Beach Opera, Canadian Opera Company and at Open Waters Festival, Halifax.
